Updates

Update from adoptive family :

“Hi Lisa,

Just to let you know how Cadbury is doing these first few days. She was quiet until about Friday, just following us around the house. I took her to the local vet for a bath on Thursday and whilst there one of her milk teeth came out, but she behaved very well the whole time we were there. On Friday she really started to come out of her shell! She is playful, has started barking whenever she hears new noises around the house or sees herself in the mirror! We only actually heard her voice when she barked for the first time since her arrival, on Thursday evening. She also started to want to lay with us on the couches and on the beds, trying her luck jumping on everything.

We had bought her a few toys and although she didn’t pay attention in the first few days, by the weekend she was having a party with them!

She follows my son and I everywhere we go in the house, and when he goes to school or naps in the afternoon she lies down by his bedside or on the rug in his room until he returns or wakes up. She is unbelievably gentle! And my son acts like he always had a dog, they really get along.

We took her on a few outings to the park during the weekend and she played a lot! She tires quickly though and then has longish naps. I think she is also a bit hot as we are in full blown summer here. Although she has her bed, she has found a spot between my husband’s bedside table and the wall in our room, just below a window, and that is where she likes to sleep at night, I think it is probably the coolest place in the house. We also let her lie in the air con if it is too hot so she does not suffer!

She eats really well and we have started with the potty training (work in progress).

Thank you once again, we feel very lucky to have her. I’ll send you updates every once in a while”
