Mickey Muddy has an extremely rare colouring trait for a Labradoodle called Merle. Whilst we have intentionally created this colouring trait, we did not compromise or short cut in any manner - he is still 100% Pure ASD ! We have NOT added any additional pedigree breed outside the 6 breeds of the Australian Labradoodle.

  • 100% Pure ASD
  • Rare MERLE colouring
  • 3-6 Pedigree Breeds - As Authorised for an Australian Labradoodle

what is Merle Colour?

Merle is actually not a colour, but a lack of colour in places (so we call it "colouring"). It is difficult to breed in ASD Australian Labradoodles as not typically a colouring trait in labradors. When we decided to try for merle colouring we had 2 options - introduce another pedigree breed from outside the list of breeds approved for australian labradoodles, or try and introduce this trait using ONLY pure 100% ASD bloodlines. We decided against any introduction of a new pedigree breed, not because there is anything wrong with this approach (as im sure it would work and achieve the desired colour objective). HOWEVER it just wasnt right for us in our refinement of the pure bloodlines. So we embarked on the long route of researching colour genes and ASD bloodlines until we brought Master into the UK from pure RM/TP lines. Master is one of our new stud boys to arrive 2015/2016 to inject fresh blood into our program and ensure our inbreeding percentage between parents maintains under 8%. A mini fleece chocolate merle Master brings new colours and colour traits. Master is of course a pure 100% ASD Australian Labradoodle so his offpsring - our new line of merle labradoodles are also pure, without any addition or backcrossing etc. The same standards, just different colouring.
